How the AHL season works
- Starts when all 32 clubs are taken. Take a free club now: as soon as the last club gets an owner, the schedule is built automatically and the season begins.
- 72 games in 45 days. Every club plays every other club home and away, plus 10 games against division rivals. You can play ahead.
- Deadlines every week. 10 games by the end of week 1, 22 by week 2, 34 by week 3, 45 by week 4, 56 by week 5 and all 72 by the end of the regular season. Anyone who falls behind is removed automatically.
- Calder Cup playoffs — just like the real AHL. 23 clubs: Atlantic — 5, North — 6, Central — 5, Pacific — 7. First round best-of-3 (top seeds get a bye), division semifinals and finals best-of-5, conference finals and the final best-of-7.
- You can play both the NHL and the AHL. Each player can hold one club in each league. Scores are entered as usual: Season → choose NHL or AHL.
